Fanny Alexandra

Fanny Alexandra is a 28-year-old independent artist and songwriter whose music grew out of a very personal need to express things she found difficult to say otherwise.

At 18, she received a serious medical diagnosis that changed much of her young adult life. Years shaped by heavy medication, social isolation, mental health struggles and personal disappointments eventually pushed her towards writing. She began with poetry before gradually turning those words into songs.

Musically, Fanny grew up loving artists from Nirvana through to Black Veil Brides, and that mixture of vulnerability, darkness, melody and emotional intensity still runs through her work today.

The lyrics are entirely Fanny’s own and remain at the centre of everything she creates.

Her songs deal with identity, loss, resilience, relationships, isolation and the less comfortable parts of growing up.

Fanny is now building her independent artist project release by release, with musicians, producers and engineers increasingly becoming part of the process while she herself plays bass and develops her own vocal performances.

Ultimately, the simplest way to understand Fanny is through the songs themselves. Her music says most of what she wants people to know about her.
